This page explains how PM Software Picks researches, writes and corrects its reviews, so you can judge how much weight to give them. It applies to every review, comparison, alternatives page, buyer’s guide and price guide on the site.
Where the facts come from
- Vendor pages first. Prices, plan names, unit limits, fees and features are taken from the vendor’s own pricing and product pages, not from sales decks or third-party roundups.
- A second source for anything that matters. Where a figure is surprising or a vendor page is unclear, we look for an independent source before publishing it. When sources disagree, we say so on the page instead of picking one quietly.
- Ratings are cited. Star ratings come from Capterra, are shown with the date they were checked, and link back to the source.
- Estimates are labeled. When a vendor does not publish a price, such as AppFolio, any figure we show is marked as a third-party estimate.
How rankings and picks are decided
A product is recommended for a use case when it fits that use case: portfolio size, budget, property type and the features that matter for it. Commission rate plays no part in the order of a list or in which product wins a comparison. Several products we recommend have no affiliate relationship with us, and we say so. Dates and freshness
Software pricing changes often. Each listing shows the date it was last updated, and prices are checked against the vendor’s current page as of the date on the guide. Treat any figure as a starting point and confirm it on the vendor’s site before you buy. We revisit the pages people read most and the ones where vendors have changed their plans.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email gridandgradientco@gmail.com and we will check it against the vendor’s page. Mistakes we confirm are fixed on the page and logged below.

- 2026-10-01: Buildium’s Essential plan price on the single rental property guide was corrected from $58 to $62 per month, matching Buildium’s own pricing page.
- 2026-10-01: Prices and plan names for DoorLoop, Hemlane, Rentec Direct and Hostfully were re-checked against each vendor’s current pages and updated where they had drifted.
- 2026-10-01: The Guesty channel-count wording on its review and two comparison pages was updated to match Guesty’s current description.
